GE FANUC IC693DNM200: Industrial Ethernet DeviceNet Module for Advanced Automation

IC693DNM200 is a main DeviceNet module. The module is a single-slot communication module that is part of the 90-30 series Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc and now owned by Emerson Automation. The module is equipped with a DeviceNet terminal. It also has one (1) RS232 9-pin Type D housing female port used as a module service port. The IC693DNM200 supports all data rates of the DeviceNet protocol, especially 125K, 250K and 500K transfer rates. Each slave master station can transmit up to 255 bytes of input data and 255 bytes of output data, and up to 3972 bytes of input data and 3972 bytes of output data can be transmitted to this master module. In addition, a total of 126 I/O connections can be established using this module, as it is able to communicate with up to 63 slave devices, each of which can be assigned a maximum of two (2) I/O stations. The module supports and configurable data connections that are polling, stroboscopic, cyclic or COS. The DeviceNet master module also supports explicit messages, unconnected message manager (UCMM), and one (1) proxy connections per slave cell. In addition, the module can operate in dual mode, acting as both master and slave stations. Failure behavior, especially during communication loss, can be configured to provide an acceptable system response in the event of the above errors. The module also comes with upgradeable firmware that allows module updates and bug fixes to be downloaded via the RS232 service port.

The IC693DNM200 module is the main DeviceNet module designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. The unit is part of the 90-30 series, which has various integrated functions for messaging and data transfer applications. Most of these functions are automatic, and the unit works on a DeviceNet network that includes other devices and hosts. The IC693DNM200 module can be installed on the host of the 90-30 series or PACSystems RX3i systems, but is not suitable for remote or extended racks. The IC693DNM200 DeviceNet module has 32 output points and supports standard data rates of 125K, 250K and 500K baud. The outputs are arranged in groups of 4, each covering 8 points. The unit is rated at 12 to 24 volts DC (positive logic), and its backplane consumes 450 mA at 5 volts DC. The GE Series 90-30 DeviceNet IC693DNM200 module has an output current of 0.5 amps per point and a surge current of 5.4 amps for a duration of 10 milliseconds. For output currents, it should be noted that the limit output current for each group is 4 amps, while the output current for each group of common pins does not exceed 3 amps. In addition, the on-state voltage drops to 0.3 volts DC, while the on/off response time does not exceed 0.5 ms. The IC693DNM200 module is very reliable and can operate in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). In addition to this, the device has a specified storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit).
